Pediatric Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy (OT) aims to increase your child's independence in their daily activities ranging from dressing and bathing, to handwriting and scissor skills, in order to help them live their lives to the fullest each day. Evaluations are the first step in determining the need for individualized therapy and how best to provide these services.  The family is actively involved in the evaluation process, which typically consists of testing materials, surveys, questionnaires, and clinical observations of your child.  Following the evaluation, the next step is the therapeutic intervention which is full of fun and creative activities that are individualized to help your child become more independent and build the confidence needed to be successful in all areas of life such as: academics, playself help skills, and social participation.
